Briefly describe the reasons and harms of diesel generator set's load-carrying capacity decline

Depending on the environment of the engine room, the service life of the unit, the daily maintenance situation, and whether the equipment accessories are in time, the diesel generator set will experience different degrees of power reduction, that is, the load capacity of the unit will decrease, and the load capacity of the diesel generator set will be reduced. If the unit runs under a small load for a long time, there will be many hazards with the accumulation of running time. The user should understand the cause and make timely adjustments.

       Depending on the environment of the engine room, the service life of the unit, the daily maintenance situation, and whether the equipment accessories are in time, the diesel generator set will experience different degrees of power reduction, that is, the load capacity of the unit will decrease, and the load capacity of the diesel generator set will be reduced. If the unit runs under a small load for a long time, the following hazards will occur with the accumulation of operating time:
       1. For supercharged diesel generator sets, due to low load, no load, and low boost pressure, it is easy to cause the sealing effect of the supercharger oil seal (non-contact type) to decrease.
       2. When the oil in the booster chamber of the supercharger accumulates to a certain extent, it will leak out from the joint surface of the supercharger.
       3. Part of the oil that goes up to the cylinder participates in the combustion, and part of the oil cannot be completely burned, forming carbon deposits on the valve, intake port, piston top, piston ring, etc., and part of it is discharged with the exhaust. In this way, oil will gradually accumulate in the exhaust port of the cylinder liner, and carbon deposits will also be formed.
       4. Long-term low-load operation will aggravate the wear and tear of the moving parts of the unit, make the combustion environment of the diesel generator set worse, and lead to an advance of the unit overhaul period.
 
       The main reasons for the decrease in the load capacity of diesel generator sets are:
       1. The air filter is too dirty and the air intake is not enough. At this time, the air filter must be cleaned or replaced;
       2. The fuel filter is too dirty and the fuel injection volume is not enough, it must be replaced or cleaned;
       3. The ignition time is not correct and needs to be adjusted.
       4. Some parts of the diesel generator set are naturally worn;
       5. The power of the diesel engine is also related to the amount of air and the amount of diesel it can burn.
       6. High air temperature and high humidity in the engine room will also reduce the load carrying capacity of the diesel generator set.
 
       Tingbo Power recommends that users should minimize the low-load/no-load running time, and the minimum load should not be lower than 25%-30% of the rated power of the unit.
