Components of diesel generators

Generators are the source of power for the operation of machinery, whether industrial or residential, the demand for electricity is very high, which is the reason why the generator rental industry is becoming more and more popular. When we rent a generator first, it is very necessary to understand its composition, types and possible causes of equipment failure.

 

The composition and types of diesel generators

 

1, the composition of diesel generators

Diesel generator rental is generally composed of diesel engine, AC synchronous generator, control panel (power distribution and control system) three parts. Diesel engine and three-phase AC synchronous generator is generally rigid connection, and through the damper directly mounted on the trailer frame or fixed bracket. The control panel, diesel tank and battery box of mobile diesel generator set are directly mounted on the frame; the public base of fixed diesel generator set is generally fixed on the specially designed reinforced concrete foundation, and the battery is placed on the side of the diesel engine starter, as shown in Figure 1.

 

Some control panels of fixed units are mounted on the upper part of the AC synchronous generator through triangular iron brackets, while smaller ones are mounted on the upper part of the generator control part shell. According to the design requirements of users or manufacturers, some of the diesel boxes of fixed units are installed on the common base, and some are set separately from the diesel generator.

 

2, the classification of diesel generators

Diesel generator rental in the generator is the mechanical energy of the diesel engine into electrical energy device, is the output part of the power. There are more types of diesel generator sets, usually can be classified according to the following methods.

　　a, according to the use of different conditions, diesel generator sets can be divided into land and marine two categories, land-based units can be divided into fixed and mobile (trailer type) two categories.

　　b, according to the different requirements for the use of land-based units, diesel generator sets can be divided into ordinary, automated, low-noise type and low-noise automation type.

　　c, according to the different nature of the generator output current, diesel generator sets can be divided into AC generator sets and DC generator sets.

　　d, according to the different ways of AC synchronous generator excitation, diesel generator sets can be divided into units equipped with rotating AC exciter excitation system and units equipped with stationary exciter excitation system;

　　e, according to the different uses of diesel generator rental, diesel generator rental can be divided into commonly used generator sets, standby generator sets, emergency generator sets.
