When the diesel generator sets work, the high temperature gas and friction generated heat will make the cylinder, cylinder head, piston and valve and other parts of the temperature rise, such as not to take appropriate cooling measures, will greatly affect the normal work of the unit, at present, according to the different cooling media, diesel generator sets cooling system can be divided into two kinds of water-cooled and air-cooled, at present, the majority of diesel generators use water-cooled cooling system, and The fan is an important part of the water-cooled cooling system, the fan belt to maintain a normal tightness is an important prerequisite to ensure the normal operation of the diesel generator set cooling system.
Fan belt is an important accessory of water-cooled diesel generator set, if improper use and maintenance of the belt slippage, it is easy to cause early wear and tear, damage, etc., not only increases the cost of replacement, but also time-consuming and laborious, therefore, the correct use and maintenance of the fan belt is particularly important. Belt slippage will bring two adverse effects.
(1) diesel generator speed is not enough, the power generation capacity is reduced, the generator can not work effectively.
(2) at the same time because the generator water pump coaxially share a set of belts, will also make the pump speed is not enough to cause insufficient supply of diesel engine circulating cooling water, fan speed is too low, and the water tank heat dissipation weakened, so that the diesel generator working temperature.
(3) intensify belt wear, serious belt ablation will occur in a short time.
Belt slippage causes
Belt to maintain a reasonable degree of tension for the diesel generator set is extremely important. There are two main reasons for insufficient belt tension.
1) Insufficient tensioning of the initial installation of the belt.
(2) belt deformation in the process of use, the length becomes longer.
Belt tightness inspection and adjustment
When the diesel generator set is working, the rubber belt should maintain a certain degree of tension, under normal circumstances, add 29~49N (3~5kgf) pressure in the middle section of the belt, the belt should be able to press down a distance of 10~20mm. General 4, 6 cylinders inline basic diesel generator belt tension can be adjusted by virtue of changing the position of the charging generator bracket, if it does not meet the requirements, you can spin loose charging generator bracket on the set screw, move the generator outward, the belt becomes tighter, and vice versa becomes loose. Adjust properly, screw the set screw tightly, and then review again, if it does not meet the requirements, should be readjusted until fully qualified.
As for the 12-cylinder V diesel generator, the fan belt tension is adjusted by using the adjusting screw on the fan frame to change the position of the fan shaft on the seat frame, as shown in the following figure.
Correct use and maintenance of the belt is beneficial to extend the service life of the belt. When the belt is peeled and delaminated and cannot reach the specified tension due to excessive elongation, it should be replaced with a new fan belt immediately.
