Beware of the diesel generator set being soaked in water in the rainy season!

       When water enters the diesel generator set, the operator should perform the following operations on the set in time under the condition of ensuring safety:

       1. If the diesel generator set is running, it will be shut down immediately. If it is in the shutdown state, it is not allowed to start.

       2. Check whether the air filter housing has accumulated water, replace the new filter element and soak it with oil.

       3. Check whether there is water standing at the bottom of the generator casing.

       4. Check whether the radiator, fan, coupling and other rotating parts are blocked.

       5. Whether there is leakage of organic oil, fuel oil or water outside.

       6. Remove the cover of the rocker arm and observe whether there is water inflow. Check generator winding insulation/contamination.

       7. Check the insulation of control circuit and output circuit. Detect control panel modules, instruments, alarm devices, and start switches.

       8. Check whether there is water in the drainage components of the exhaust pipe (the lowest part of the exhaust pipe or the muffler).

       9. Check the stator and rotor inside the generator, and then dry it before assembling.

 

       Diesel generator manufacturers remind: In rainy season, users must pay attention not to let water intrude into the combustion chamber of the engine! When it is judged that there is no water in the combustion chamber of the diesel generator set engine and the insulation meets the requirements, the diesel generator set can be started. Pay attention to the following issues when starting up:

       1. Perform all inspections before starting, including draining the fuel tank. Power on the electrical system gradually, and observe whether there is any abnormality.

       2. Do not start the engine continuously for more than 30 seconds. If the engine fails to catch fire, check the fuel line and electrical circuit, and start again after a minute or two.

       3. Check whether the engine sound is abnormal and whether there is any peculiar smell. Check whether the display of the electrical instrument and the LCD screen are broken or unclear.

       4. Closely observe the oil pressure and water temperature. If the oil pressure or temperature does not meet the technical specifications, the engine should be turned off. After stopping, check the oil level once.

 

       In the rainy season every year, many diesel generator sets are accidentally soaked in water or flooded. Because users do not have relevant maintenance knowledge, blind processing leads to further damage to the unit. Therefore, when judging that the engine may enter the water, When the insulation does not meet the requirements, do not repair it without authorization, and seek the help of the professional and technical personnel of the generator set manufacturer in time to avoid secondary damage to the generator set.
