Diesel generator set starter motor maintenance and maintenance methods

Under normal circumstances, the diesel engine can be started once, each time the running time of the starter motor should not exceed 12 s. If a time can not start, need to make a second start, the time interval between the two starts should not be less than 15 s. Never allow the diesel engine and the starter motor will stop rotating, and then press the start button, otherwise it will cause a violent impact between the gear and the gear ring and damage.

 

The starter motor is a four-pole, four-brush short-time rated series-excited DC motor, with the battery as the power source, used to start the diesel generator. According to the type of diesel engine with different specifications of the starter motor.

That is, loosen the nut, use to turn the adjusting screw, and make its end and the arrow on the steel seal roughly to the upper right of a fixed screw position, until the adjustment to easy to engage, and then fix the adjusting screw, lock the nut.

 

Starter motor installation and maintenance methods.

 

(1) starter motor installation, should keep the gear end and flywheel gear ring end face distance of 2.5 ~ 5 mm. this distance has been adjusted at the factory, the user generally no longer adjust. If necessary, metal shims can be added between the flange plane of the starter motor and the flywheel housing to adjust. But must ensure that the starter motor shaft and the axis of the diesel engine crankshaft parallel.

 

(2) often check whether the connection of the starter motor fasteners are solid, the wire contact is tight, the wire insulation is not damaged
