       The construction of diesel generator room is an important aspect to ensure the safe operation of the unit, and its design and firefighting facilities are very critical. In this article, Dingbo Electric will focus on explaining the fire protection design requirements for diesel generator rooms.

       1. Diesel generator rooms arranged in civil buildings should meet the following requirements:
       1. The diesel generator room can be arranged on the first floor or the 1st and 2nd floors underground, and should not be arranged on the upper, lower or adjacent positions of crowded places;
       2. The diesel generator room should be separated from other parts by a fire partition wall with a fire resistance rating of not less than 2.00h and a non-combustible floor slab with a fire resistance of 1.50h.
       3. A separate oil storage room should be set up, and the oil storage capacity should not exceed the required amount for 8 hours. Measures should be taken to prevent leakage and oil leakage. The oil tank should have a vent pipe (outdoor); The firewall is separated from the generator;
       4. When the door must be opened on the firewall, a Class A fire door that can be closed by itself should be set up.
       5. Adopt independent fire separation and separate fire compartments.
       6. Fire alarm devices should be installed;
       7. Fire-extinguishing facilities suitable for diesel generator capacity and building scale should be set up. When automatic sprinkler system is set in other parts of the building, the machine room should be set with automatic sprinkler system;

       2. The diesel generator room installed in the wooden structure residential building should be separated from other parts by a fire wall with a fire resistance rating of not less than 2.00h and a non-combustible floor with a fire resistance of 1.00h. It is not advisable to open doors, windows, openings, etc. When it is really necessary to open, a single-leaf Class B fire door that does not directly lead to the room can be opened.

       3. Provisions on the configuration of fire protection facilities:
       1. There are fire hydrants, fire belts and fire water guns outside the machine room.
       2. There are oil fire extinguishers, dry powder fire extinguishers and gas fire extinguishers in the machine room.
       3. There are eye-catching no fireworks safety icons, and no fireworks text.
