How to clean the parts of the diesel generator during maintenance?

       In the process of repairing the generator set, it is often necessary to clean the oil, coke, scale and rust on the surface of the parts of the generator set. Due to the different properties of various types of dirt, the removal methods are also different. So how to clean the parts of the diesel generator during maintenance?

 

       1. Scale removal

       The cleaning of diesel generator sets generally adopts the chemical cleaning method. The chemical solution for removing scale is added to the coolant. After the diesel generator set works for a certain period of time, the coolant is replaced. Commonly used chemical solutions for removing scale are: caustic soda solution or hydrochloric acid solution, sodium fluoride hydrochloric acid descaling agent and phosphoric acid descaling agent. Phosphoric acid descaling agent is suitable for removing scale on aluminum alloy parts.

       2. Carbon deposit removal

       Carbon deposits can be removed by a simple mechanical shovel cleaning method. That is, use a metal brush or scraper to remove it, but this method is not easy to remove the carbon deposits, and it is easy to damage the surface of the parts. The user can choose a chemical method to remove the carbon deposit, that is, first use a decarburizer (chemical solution) to heat it to 80~90 ℃, swell and soften the carbon deposit on the parts, and then use a brush to remove it.

       Three, oil cleaning

       If the oil deposits on the surface of diesel generator set parts are thick, they should be scraped off first. Generally, the surface oil of parts is cleaned, and the commonly used cleaning fluids are alkaline cleaning fluids and synthetic detergents. When using alkaline cleaning solution for hot cleaning, heat it to 70~90℃, immerse the parts for 10~15min, then take it out, rinse it with clean water, and then dry it with compressed air.

       Note: It is not safe to use gasoline to clean; aluminum alloy parts cannot be cleaned in strong alkaline cleaning fluid; non-metallic rubber parts should be cleaned with alcohol or brake fluid.
