Power correction conversion for diesel generator sets in non-standard environment
July 05, 2022
Our daily diesel generator power generally refers to the standard environment (atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, ambient temperature) under the condition of 12 hours of continuous operation of the output power, that is, the calibration power, but when the environment is different from the standard provisions, the power should be corrected in accordance with the conversion method of diesel engine power.
Diesel generator
Our daily diesel generator power generally refers to the standard environment (atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, ambient temperature) under the condition of 12 hours of continuous operation of the output power, that is, the calibration power, but when the environment is different from the standard provisions, the power should be corrected in accordance with the conversion method of diesel engine power. Conversion formula is.
PH = η (K1K2Pe-Np) (kw)
Where
PH - the output power of the unit (KW)
Pe - the calibrated power of the unit under standard environmental conditions (KW)
K1 - diesel engine power correction system (K1=0.9 when the diesel engine is running for a long time, K1=1 when the diesel engine is working continuously for <12h)
K2 - environmental conditions correction factor
η - efficiency of the generator
Np - the mechanical power consumed by the diesel engine fan and other auxiliary parts (KW)
The ratio of the calibrated power Pe (KW) of the diesel engine to the output power PH (KW) of the unit (synchronous alternator) is usually called the matching ratio, expressed as K, i.e.
K=Pe/PH
The size of K is affected by various factors such as local atmospheric pressure, relative humidity and ambient temperature, etc. For general units used on the plain, K is usually taken as 1.35~1.6; for units with higher requirements, K should be taken as 2.
If you want to understand more clearly the power class calibration of diesel generator sets, the following diesel generator sets power category you should read carefully, the power category of diesel generator sets is a comprehensive consideration of the power category of supporting parts, and combined with the actual use of the provisions. National standard GB/T 2820.1-2009 "reciprocating internal combustion engine driven alternating current generator set" Part I: use, rating and performance of the power rating of diesel generator sets in Article 13 of the following provisions.
(1) Continuous power COP
Continuous power refers to the agreed operating conditions and according to the manufacturer's maintenance intervals and methods of implementation of maintenance, the generator set operating hours per year without restriction for a constant load of continuous power supply maximum.
(2) Basic power PRP
The basic power is the maximum power that can be continuously supplied to a variable load for an unlimited number of hours per year under the agreed operating conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance intervals and methods.
(3) Limited-time operation power LTP
Limited time operating power is the maximum power of the generator set to supply 500h per year under the agreed operating conditions and according to the manufacturer's maintenance intervals and methods of implementation (Note: 100% limited time operating power LTP up to 500h per year)
(4) Emergency Standby Power ESP
Emergency Standby Power is the maximum power in a variable power series under agreed operating conditions and in accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance intervals and methods of implementation, when the public grid failure or under test conditions, the generator set operating up to 200h per year. The average output power (Ppp) allowed during a 24h operating cycle shall be no greater than 70% of the ESP, unless otherwise specified by the reciprocating internal combustion engine (RIC) manufacturer.
For the same diesel generator set, the rated power of different categories, the value of the size is not the same, so the national standard (GB/T 2820.5-2009 "reciprocating internal combustion engine driven alternating current generator set" Part 5: generator set) requires manufacturers to indicate the power category before the rated power on the product nameplate, that is, add the word head: COP, PRP, LTP or ESP. so said, not only to reflect the actual situation of the generator set, but also to facilitate the use of the user, at the same time, the user in the purchase of diesel generator sets, but also be sure to pay attention to the power category marked on the generator set nameplate.
