The structure and working principle of diesel generator set

Diesel generator set is composed of three modules: engine, generator and control system. It takes diesel engine as the driving force and drives synchronous generator to generate power. It has the advantages of quick start, convenient operation and maintenance, less investment, and adaptability to the environment. With the characteristics of strong performance, it has been widely used in mines, factories, hotels, real estate, schools, hospitals and other fields in recent years.
 
The diesel generator set is composed of a diesel engine, a three-phase AC brushless synchronous generator, a control box (screen), a cooling water tank, a coupling, a fuel tank, a muffler and a common base. The flywheel shell of the diesel engine and the axial direction of the front end cover of the generator are directly connected by shoulder positioning, and a cylindrical elastic coupling is used to directly drive the rotation of the generator by the flywheel. It is connected into a steel body to ensure that the concentricity of the crankshaft of the diesel engine and the rotor of the generator is within the specified range. In order to reduce the vibration of the unit, generator manufacturers usually install shock absorbers or rubber shock absorbers at the connection between the main components such as diesel engine, generator, water tank and electrical control box and the common base.
 
How Diesel Generators Work
 
1. The diesel engine drives the generator to run, converting the energy of the diesel into electrical energy.
 
2. In the cylinder of the diesel engine, the clean air filtered by the air filter is fully mixed with the high-pressure atomized diesel fuel injected from the fuel injector. Under the upward extrusion of the piston, the volume shrinks and the temperature rises rapidly, reaching the level of diesel fuel. Ignite. The diesel is ignited, the mixed gas burns violently, the volume expands rapidly, and the piston is pushed down, which is called "work". Each cylinder performs work in a certain order, and the thrust acting on the piston becomes the force that pushes the crankshaft to rotate through the connecting rod, thereby driving the crankshaft to rotate.
 
3. By installing the brushless synchronous alternator coaxially with the crankshaft of the diesel engine, the rotation of the diesel engine can be used to drive the rotor of the generator. Using the principle of "electromagnetic induction", the generator will output an induced electromotive force, and the closed load loop can generate current.
