Diesel generator users can not ignore the fuel pollution problem

Fuel oil is the energy source of diesel generators. Without fuel oil, diesel generator sets will not be able to operate normally. The cleanliness of fuel oil is extremely important for the generator set. But many users tend to overlook a problem: Diesel fuel can go bad.

We know that the average shelf life of untreated diesel fuel is 6 to 12 months, but it will eventually degrade over time. Fuel degradation creates a series of problems that lead to contamination of diesel fuel. These include fuel oil hydrolysis, which can lead to the growth of bacteria and microorganisms. The acid produced by this growth can degrade diesel fuel. Oxidizer is another cause of concern, as it quickly contaminates diesel fuel, causing sludge build-up that clogs filters and restricts fluid flow. Oxidation cannot be prevented, but the oxidation process can be slowed and controlled with proper treatment.

So how can users judge whether the diesel is polluted? In general, diesel fuel will show signs and signs of deterioration:
Color: Diesel fuel in the tank will darken in color
Odor: The fuel in the tank emits an odor
Blockage: Often occurs in fuel lines
Exhaust: The exhaust produced when running will be darker in color
Dirt: There will be a buildup of silt or sediment found on the bottom of the diesel tank
Power output: The generator does not perform well when running
Start: failed generator start or damaged pump or injector

In order to have higher reliability and lower fuel consumption of diesel generator sets, Tingbo Power recommends that you must choose clean diesel that meets the regulations, and do not mix gasoline, alcohol or alcohol-gasoline mixed fuel into diesel, otherwise it may cause explode.

The benefits of using clean diesel
While we've discussed some of the harms of using polluted diesel fuel to generate electricity, let's take another look at why using cleaner fuels can be beneficial:
Accumulation: less fuel and storage, not easy to accumulate or produce sediment.
Ease of Maintenance: Clean diesel helps clean and lubricate the injection system while reducing the possibility of injector failure.
       Exhaust: Produces less exhaust.
Power output: The generator must meet the standard requirements.
Stable starting: The generator rarely fails to start.

To sum up, due to the extremely precise tolerances of the diesel generator set fuel injection system, it is extremely important to keep the fuel clean and free of dirt or moisture. If there is water or dirt in the fuel system, it may seriously damage the fuel pump and injector , because users must pay attention to the pollution of fuel oil.
