What's the matter with the oil in the water tank of the 800kw diesel generator set?

May 23, 2022
There is oil in the water tank of the 800kw Cummins diesel generator set, which will reduce the original performance of the coolant and have a great impact on the cooling effect of the generator set. Therefore, the user must check the reasons in time. Generally, the reason why the water tank is mixed with oil is that the cylinder head has pores. Or cracks, radiator damage, seal failure or mechanism failure, etc., users should pay attention to screening.

       There is oil in the water tank of the 800kw Cummins diesel generator set, which will reduce the original performance of the coolant and have a great impact on the cooling effect of the generator set. Therefore, the user must check the reasons in time. Generally, the reasons for mixing oil in the water tank are as follows: Dingbo Power will take you to understand them one by one.

       1. The cylinder head has pores or cracks.
       In the fuel supply system of the 800kw Cummins diesel generator set, the diesel passage is on the cylinder head, and there are oil passages, water passages and diesel passages on the cylinder head. When the unit is working, the diesel pressure in the diesel channel on the cylinder head is 0.8~1.2MPa, the water pressure is less than 0.6MPa, and the diesel pressure is higher than the water pressure. Once the air holes, blisters or cracks appear on the cylinder head, the water channel and the diesel channel will be damaged. Connected, the diesel will enter the waterway.
       2. The radiator is damaged
       If the oil radiator or gearbox radiator of the 800kw Cummins diesel generator set is damaged, it will also cause the water tank of the unit to be contaminated with oil, and the user should check it carefully.
       3. The seal fails or the mechanism is faulty.
       a. If the oil seal of the main shaft of the PT pump fails, the diesel oil enters the timing gear box and then reaches the oil pan; the oil shut-off valve at the diesel outlet on the PT pump is not closed tightly, and the diesel engine has been stopped, but due to the high position of the diesel tank, Diesel can still enter the sump following the following route:
Fuel tank → fuel pipe → PT gear pump → fuel cut-off valve (when it is not closed tightly) → fuel pipe → fuel injector (the fuel injector in the oil return and oil measuring stroke, the diesel oil in the nozzle cavity is connected with the diesel oil tank, under atmospheric pressure Under the action of diesel oil dripping into the combustion chamber through the nozzle hole) → combustion chamber → oil pan;
       b. When the injector hole is too large, damaged or the upper and lower O-rings of the injector are damaged, the diesel oil will enter the combustion chamber and then seep into the oil pan;
       c. When the check valve on the oil return manifold of the PT fuel system fails, the diesel oil will flow through it to the injector and then seep into the oil pan;
       d. There is a manual shut-off valve at the outlet of the diesel tank. If the valve core is damaged and not closed tightly, the diesel will also flow into the combustion chamber and into the oil pan;
       e. The pressure of a certain cylinder is too low, causing the cylinder to not work, so that the diesel oil flows into the oil pan;
       f. The diesel engine has insufficient air intake and unsafe combustion, and the diesel will flow into the oil pan along the cylinder wall.
