The electrode composition of the diesel generator battery is lead and lead oxide, and the electrolyte is an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid. It is an important starting component of the diesel generator set. If the battery is faulty or on the verge of being scrapped, the diesel generator set will start normally. and downtime operations. So how do users identify whether the diesel generator battery has been scrapped?

       1. The user can use a multimeter and an ammeter to test the voltage and current of the battery. If the two values are very low, the function of the battery will also be reduced. At this time, there may be short circuits and open circuits in the battery. It can be judged that the battery has been scrapped, and the user needs to replace the battery with a new one.

       2. Under normal circumstances, after the capacity of the diesel generator set battery drops to about 60%, its function will also decline significantly, and at the same time, it will soon lose all charging and discharging capabilities. Diesel generator manufacturer Dingbo Electric recommends that users should scrap the battery when it is found that the discharge capacity of the battery is lower than about 60% of the rated capacity and the function cannot be restored after repair.

       3. When the diesel generator set battery has serious heat generation and shell deformation during charging, it indicates that the battery has been damaged and needs to be scrapped. Because when the plate of the battery is softened and deformed, the active material will fall off, and the electrolyte in the battery will also turn black, or even fail to recover.
